Created date

1st April 2019

Registration is now live for the NHS Scotland Event 2019, which is being held on 30-31 May at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow. The theme of this year’s Event is ‘Working Together, Improving Outcomes’.

Every year, the Event provides the opportunity for those working in and with the NHS in Scotland to come together to consider the challenges, to share best practice and the most innovative approaches to delivering the highest quality of care, and to take away tools and techniques that will support them in their various roles.

This year’s Event will feature something for everyone.

Four plenary sessions are scheduled to take place over the two days with a range of inspiring topics to learn from. Jeane Freeman, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport will also take to the stage to discuss her priorities are for coming years.

The NHS Scotland Event is also delighted to welcome Jeff French who will be leading the final session focusing on understanding the imperative of engaging with citizens to build relationships and co-create valued solutions to health and health service challenges. He’ll also cover six key design principles of social marketing that can be applied to improve efficiency, effectiveness and citizen perceived value.

Twelve parallel sessions are scheduled for Day One and will be repeated on Day Two. The sessions have been designed around the theme of the Event and will draw on the very real examples of excellent practice across NHS Scotland and its partners. New for this year are mini plenary sessions which will bring to the Event something new and dynamic for delegates to attend. Like the parallel and spotlight sessions these sessions will have to be booked on to. The topics for these new sessions have been chosen based on the priorities for health and social care in Scotland at this moment in time.

Delegates will also have the option to select and attend spotlight sessions. Each spotlight session will feature a number of 15 minute presentations from a wide range of organisations all looking to share their perspective on working together with the end goal of delivering improved outcomes within the NHS in Scotland and its partners.

This year’s facilitated poster presentations will once again take place during both days of the Event and will offer more choice for delegates looking to find out about specific poster categories and meet with poster authors.

Over 200 posters will be on display throughout the Event representing the very best examples of quality improvement in each of the poster categories – person-centred, safe, effective, infrastructure, health of the population, value and sustainability and integrated care.

Over 70 exhibitors are expected to showcase their services and products to help inform and support your work. There will be a number of features in the exhibition hall, including the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service.

Places go quickly so make sure you register now. When registering, please view the full programme which includes descriptors for the mini plenary, parallel and spotlight sessions – these will help you to choose the sessions you feel are most relevant to your area of work.
